Mamata on Friday announced her list of 228 candidates leaving 64 seats for Congress, and laced the announcement with a deadline of Monday evening after which she is supposed to announce her list of those 64 too, if Congress fails to come up with its own list.

West Bengal Pradesh Congress leaders have risen in virtual revolt and presented a list of 90 candidates for as many seats to AICC. They want that the should not accept the offer of the 64 seats made by Mamata Banerjee.

Sonia has to take a decision on Monday even as some of Trinamool leaders have requested Mamata to push back the deadline by a day.

All eyes will now be on the Congress to see if the party gives in to the railway minister.
