Fashion Technology as a career option is on boom these days. It would not be any exaggeration to say that it is already making big inroads into the traditional courses. It's an in-thing if you wish to be different.
One had to witness the passing out parade -- they call it Annual Graduating Fashion Show -- of the students of Wigan Fashion School to really feel the impact that Rohit Bals, Ritu Kumars and their ilk are making on the young, impressionable minds, nay the GenNext.

The designers of tomorrow, who had gathered at Quintessence06, on Wednesday, showcased some stunning outfits of international look and feel, making chief guest Bal see red.
Surely, they will give the fashion giant a run for his money, if one goes by the appreciation that was writ large on his face for the budding talents.
Bal had few encouraging words for the fashfrat which has just joined the big brothers' league. He was effusive in his praise for the promising designers who he believed 'could make a mark for themselves'. And when Bal talks, fashionistas listen, in rapt attention.
Some of the young designers merit immediate attention: Swati Rekha Selvan, Himanshi Chowdhary and Jenjum Gadi. While Gadi's collection for males was making young women drool, the biggest applaud, backed by whistle, from men's section was reserved for Himanshi.
