What is the biggest professional challenge that you face in your role as a principal?

A school principal’s role is complex and stressful these days because they are accountable for everything that happens to children in the school but they do not always get the support they require from different quarters. Sometimes teachers don’t follow instructions. At other times other external forces limit our plan.

What emphasis do you put on teacher training?

A teacher’s role is crucial and dynamic in schools. They need to adjust their teaching to the ever-changing goals. In such a situation, their continuous professional quality development becomes important. For this we always allocate time for training and send them for capacity building programmes .

What according to you is the role of media in education?

The media’s role is dominant in the learning process, be it print media, magazines, books or electronic media. To improve English speaking skills and to get information, newspapers are the best source. We, the teachers and parents, have to expose school children to correct and useful sources of information for their benefit.

Tell us about your leisure activities and how you spend time with family and friends?

In my leisure time, I read material related to my profession and spend time on music and my family. That really keeps me going.
