Now, PU’s MPhil/PhD entrance test result valid for 5 years
Late date to apply is June 20 and results will be declared on August 13.
Panjab University has increased the validity of the M Phil/PhD entrance test from two to five years.

A PU panel had suggested to increase the test’s validity as it was conducted by the university itself. The syndicate has approved the proposal, and it will now be notified by the concerned branch.
Also, if a candidate has done the course work in a UGC recognised university, it will be valid in PU.
The entrance test for admission to M Phil/PhD will be conducted on July 1 in Chandigarh. The last date for online registration is June 20.
The test will comprise two papers: Paper 1 will be objective (50 marks), while Paper 2 will be subjective (50 marks). There will be no negative marking.
The test will be followed by a mandatory interview, and selection will be based solely on the candidate’s performance in the interview, as per the prospectus.
A candidate’s Paper 2 will be evaluated only if the score in Paper 1 is 55%. Further, it is essential to score at least 40% in Paper 2 to be considered for enrolment.
Those who have cleared UGC-National Eligibility Test (NET), CSIR (Junior Research Fellow), State-level eligibility test and GATE examinations are exempted from the entrance test. Also, 5% seats will be reserved for persons with disability.
