Over 96% students qualify in AP ECET

More than 96% candidates have qualified in the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP ECET) 2016.

Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) chairperson Venugopal Reddy released the results at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Anantapur on Wednesday.

APECET, which is conducted every year by JNTU on behalf of APSCHE, was held on May 9.

A total of 34,739 students appeared in the exam at seven centres in the state. Out of them, 33,535 students have passed. The pass percentage was 96.53.

The candidates can check their results on the official website www.apecet.org. They can enter their roll number and other required details in the respected fields to see the results.

In the Andhra University region, 25,335 students appeared in the exam and out of them 24,414 have qualified. A total of 8,560 candidates wrote the exam in Sri Venkateswara University region and out of them 8,297 have passed. In other regions, 824 out of 844 students have cleared the exam.

The test is conducted for admissions into second year regular BE and BTech courses in engineering colleges across Andhra Pradesh for seats specifically earmarked for diploma holders and BSc degree holders.

The test is also meant for admissions into second years regular BPharmacy courses in pharmacy colleges.
