In all, 5,38,726 students from 11,103 schools appeared for the examinations held from March 15 to 31 this year. Of them, 83.78 per cent of the students were declared passed. While girls registered 85.14 pass percentage of the total 2,62,479 who appeared for the examinations conducted by the Telangana State Board of Secondary Education, 82.46 per cent of 2,76,388 boys cleared it.

In 2017, the total pass percentage of SSC students in the state was 84.15. “This year, the pass percentage was less by 0.37 per cent. The marginal fall in the pass percentage is due to strict invigilation, fool-proof conduct of the examinations with deployment of sitting and flying squads, and maintenance of proper standards in the examination process,” the deputy chief minister and minister of education Kadiyam Srihariminister said.

The minister said that while Jagitial district topped with 97.35 per cent results, Adilabad stood at the bottom.

This year, too, government schools recorded excellent results, with welfare residential schools recording a pass percentage of over 90 per cent. In all 2,125 schools recorded 100 per cent results. They include 686 zilla parishad schools. However, as many as 21 government school and 11 private schools recorded zero results.

The results will be available on the official website of the Telangana Board of Secondary Education (bse.telangana.gov.in), besides other private websites. Only the grading and grade point average of the students, not their marks, will be indicated.

The advanced supplementary examinations for the failed candidates will be held from June 4 to 19, between 9.30 am and 12.15 pm. The last date for applying for the supplementary exams is May 21.
