Want to be a ‘tandem reporter’ for a German event?
DAAD invites applications from students to report on an edu fairUpdated: Jan 04, 2012 10:49 IST
DAAD, or German Academic Exchange Service, is inviting applications from people who wish to work as “Tandem Reporters” during an education exposition in India in February. The application deadline is January 15, 2012. The German Study & Research Expo India 2012 is due to tour Delhi from February 17 to 20, Hyderabad from February 21 to 23 and Chennai from February 24 to 26.
“As our reporter in the field, your videos, photos or reports will be posted on both our websites www.study-in.de and www.go-out.de, as well as the corresponding Facebook pages, Twitter and YouTube-Channels,” says the organiser. The scribe will team up with a German or an Indian partner. “You will be supported by an experienced DAAD journalist, who will coach you in online journalistic writing during your assignment.”
You must be a German or an Indian student or researcher, aged 18 to 30 years, at an Indian university and have some journalistic experience. You must also be proficient in English. Basic knowledge of German is an advantage. To apply, choose one of the three cities; pen down a 500-word letter of motivation talking about who you are, what skills you have and what would make you a great tandem reporter; include your CV with a picture of yourself; give at least two suggestions for topics you could imagine writing about during the tour. For example:
Have you been to Germany and do you want to put the things happening during the tour into perspective?
Would you like to share the knowledge you’ve gained studying in India or Germany?
Or, would you like to mingle with the visitors of the fair and capture their opinions about Germany?
DAAD will give each participant a media-kit.
