Description:Nand Kishore Yadav is a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bihar, known for his long and undefeated electoral career. He belongs to the old guard of the state's BJP leadership, having risen through the ranks alongside contemporaries like Sushil Kumar Modi. His political journey began in local politics, serving as a councillor and later as deputy mayor of the Patna Municipal Corporation. Since 1995, Nand Kishore Yadav has remained unbeaten in assembly elections, representing first Patna East and then the Patna City constituency after the 2008 delimitation. He has held numerous ministerial portfolios in the Nitish Kumar-led governments. A former president of the Bihar BJP and its youth wing, Yadav was at the forefront of the party's decisive battle against the Lalu-Rabri regime. His standing within the party was highlighted when he was made the Leader of the Opposition in 2013 after the BJP's first split with the JDU. In 2024, following the JDU's return again to the NDA, he was appointed speaker of the Bihar assembly.
