The Congress, which was the single-largest party with 17 seats in the 40-member state assembly, has claimed it will win the state
The AAP, which has delivered impressive performance in civic polls, is also among the contenders. Amit Palekar is the face of the party. It will be interesting to see if Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress, whose efforts to remain visible on the ground have been noticed, is able to make a dent after an open rift with the Congress. The TMC is contesting the Goa election with the MGP, the state’s first ruling party.
Dominating the Goa assembly election news have been the defections and possibility of tie-ups between the opposition parties that are trying to forge an anti-BJP alliance before the 2024 national polls.
