Usilampatti is one of the 232 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Madurai district. Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2021 for Usilampatti was held on April 6 and the result was declared on May 2.
Usilampatti assembly constituency had 2,69,103 electors in 2016, out of which 1,35,313 were male voters and 1,33,787 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election 2016, Usilampatti constituency had 15 candidates for assembly seat contention. Usilampatti was one of 134 seats won by the Dravida Munetra Kazhagam. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Neethipathi P won the election by upstaging Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Ilamakezhan.K by a margin of 32,906 votes.
90.1% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Neethipathi P got a total of 1,06,349 votes, while Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Ilamakezhan.K got 73,443 votes. Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's candidate Baskara Sethupathy.A grabbed 7,079 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 53.3%, 36.8% and 3.5% respectively.
In Tamil Nadu Assembly election 2011, All India Forward Bloc's Kathiravan P V outperformed Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Ramasamy S O by 15,320 votes.
