TV9 Bharatvarsh Latest Counting updates: The results of the Assembly elections in five states are likely to become clear by March 10 evening but the initial trend will start emerging from 8am after the counting of the postal ballots starts. TV9 Bharatvarsh, a Hindi-language news channel owned by TV9 Network, will broadcast and live stream the latest updates on the counting day.
Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa, with the BJP government in four of them, went to the polls over the seven phases which concluded on March 7. While Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa voted in a single phase, Uttar Pradesh saw seven-phase polling spread over almost a month.
Uttar Pradesh has 403 Assembly constituencies and major political parties, in this case, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are hoping to cross the halfway mark of 202, either on their own or with the help of allies, to comfortably form the government in the state.
In Uttarakhand, polling for the 70 Assembly seats was held in a single phase. Congress and BJP remain the main contenders to form the government in the state even as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has tried to make the fight multi-cornered.

Goa has 40 Assembly constituencies for which voting was held on February 14 in a single phase. In 2017, Congress emerged as the single largest party but failed to form a government as the BJP, with 12 seats, managed the required numbers with the help of smaller regional parties and independent MLAs. Several Congress MLAs also defected to BJP, helping the saffron party to finish the five-year term. This time, political pundits will also be closely watching the performance of AAP and Trinamool Congress as both parties try to increase their footprint in other states.

Punjab witnessed a high-voltage poll campaign as the ruling Congress and principal opposition in the Assembly, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), tried various moves to lure the voters on their side. Damaging allegations levelled by former AAP leader Kumar Vishwas against Delhi chief minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal also grabbed headlines a few days ahead of polling. Shiromani Akali Dal and BSP contested the Punjab election together while BJP stitched an alliance with Captain Amarinder Singh’s newly floated party Punjab Lok Congress.
