star first became aware of the potentially harmful chemicals used in everyday items when she was preparing to give birth to her first child Honor in 2008, reports

. “When I was pregnant with Honor, I did this research and found that all these products that are in and around our kids have toxic chemicals in them, and are causing unnecessary harm on our families,” said Alba, who has joined hands with an organisation Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families, and is joining fellow campaigners at a rally in Washington to pressure lawmakers into taking action. “We’re trying to get Congress to have toxic chemical reform,” she said.
