And she'd like to thank... Emma dedicates award to deceased pet hamster
Emma Watson recently won the Brittania award and dedicated it to her pet hamster who died on the sets of the first Harry Potter film. The actor mentions how supportive the cast and crew of Harry Potter were of her in light of the tragedy.
The actor says, “I’m honoured to be receiving this award because the British film industry hasn’t just been a workplace for me; it’s been a surrogate family. A sweet, but slightly morbid example of this is when my on-set hamster, Millie, had a heart attack and didn’t quite make it,” she said.
She also added how the movie’s set decorators built a mahogany coffin for her pet; the coffin had a velvet lining and a silver plaque with Millie’s name inscribed on it.
“Thank you very much. And rest in peace, Millie, this one’s for you.”
