He wrote that Americans "have laid foundation for a Christmas day attack" by attacking Gaza on Eid. Anurag Basu tweeted, "Gaza Attacked on Eid Day-Americans hv successfully laid foundation for a Christmas day attack on them in near future..When will this stop." (sic)

Amid violent incidents such as shooting down of MH17 and Gaza attacks throughout the auspicious month of Ramzan, and attacks even on the festive occasion of Eid, several Bollywood celebs took to microblogging site Twitter to pray for peace and harmony.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan wrote, "Eid Mubarak .. peace harmony and happiness for all."

Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, "What a beautiful rain kissed day....Eid Mubarak. May Allah grant us all with peace & a modicum of happiness. Bas itna sa khwab hai...."
