Arjun Rampal to make a kiddy flick after playing dad in reel and real life.
Actor Arjun Rampal is currently caught between two wives and three children in the desi remake of Stepmom, titled We Are Family. The actor insists that he is looking forward to the film, adding, “I don’t know if I have evolved as an actor as ‘evolution’ is too big a word. Versatility is the word for me. I’m trying to ensure that the man who buys a ticket to my films, enjoys them.”
Quiz him on what he’s been hiding under his hat, or rather, the bandana he’s been sporting of late, and Rampal chuckles, "A super hero film that gives me super powers."
He is obviously referring to Shah Rukh Khan’s ambitious fantasy film, Ra.One, for which he’s shed a few kilos and shaved off his hair. He refuses to reveal the look but promises it will be a surprise.
Ask him if the buzz that he is playing the bad man in this action adventure, à la Joker in The Dark Knight, is true and he says, “Hey, it’d be unfair to compare any role with the Joker; that was a brilliant Oscar-winning performance by Heath Ledger. There is no point copying something so superbly original. I just hope Ra.One is equally loved.”
Rampal, who’s a father to two pretty girls, Maahika and Myra, says that he wants to make a kiddy flick. He’s ready to produce it too, under his banner, Chasing Ganesha Films. Their last production, four years ago was I See You.
