She resisted it for long. But actress Nandita Das has finally given in to the lure of Mumbai. From the Capital, the actress-filmmaker has shifted base to the glamour capital of the country following her marriage to environment entrepreneur Subodh Maskara.

Her wedding happened quite suddenly last Saturday at Maskara’s Mumbai home. Nandita says, “It was meant to be a surprise. Even my friends were quite taken aback. It has just been five months since we met, but it feels like we have known each other for ages.”

The actress says that while she is looking to explore Mumbai now, she is also missing Delhi. “I am missing the Delhi winters and the fog — sitting on my terrace where I have so many plants, and sipping hot tea or soup. This could have been the best time to be in Delhi when there are so many cultural activities and theatre happening.

I am usually traveling so when I am in Delhi, I prefer being at home and having ghar ka khana. The city gives you lot of space, has a character with all the trees and monuments. The people are quite aggressive, so I wish that could change.”
