Judge reserves order on Salman’s petition

As per the prosecution’s case, one person was killed and four others sleeping on a pavement in Bandra were injured when Khan’s Toyota Land Cruiser allegedly crashed into a bakery on the night of September 28, 2002.

Additional metropolitan magistrate court at Bandra had on December 31, last year, ordered that the actor be charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, along with the other charges in the case. Under this section, the maximum punishment is 10 years.

In March, the actor moved the sessions court to set aside the order of the magistrate court contending that it was erroneous and bad in law.

On Wednesday, Khan’s advocate Ashok Mundargi submitted the written argument which states that the order passed by the magistrate court was contrary to the evidence recorded in court and should be quashed and set aside.
