Actress Gul Panag has been touring Punjab for a few weeks taking up matters for the betterment of the state. Panag has revived her grandfather’s foundation, Col Shamsher Singh Foundation, set up 16 years ago, to propagate free education in Punjabi. "The foundation kickstarted last week and we have announced 1,000 vocational scholarships for rural youth below the poverty line," says the actress.

“We have also tied up with an education group in Chandigarh to empower our students,” adds Panag.
