Suga talks about getting cast on street, K-pop idols wearing makeup, BTS' next chapter and importance of taking breaks

After Suga's military enlistment was announced, a new episode of Suchwita was released on Monday. He hosted Hwang Min-hyun and spoke on several topics.

BTS member Suga hosted idol and actor Hwang Min-hyun on episode 16 of his variety show Suchwita. Taking to its YouTube channel, BangtanTV posted the episode in which Suga shared a funny anecdote from his training days with BigHit Music. He also spoke about K-pop idols wearing makeup, on importance of taking breaks, BTS ARMY, the cleanest person in the group and BTS' second chapter.

Suga talks about getting cast on the street

As Hwang Min-hyun shared an incident when he was cast on the street, Suga said, "I have actually been cast on the street once in Seoul. I was already in BigHit but a BigHit manager gave me his business card and asked me to audition. I was just a trainee. So the managers didn't know me. I was on my way to school and a black minivan just pulled up. They were like, 'Excuse me', so I said, 'Yes?' They said, 'Are you interested in joining an entertainment agency?' So I said, 'Sorry I'm a BigHit trainee'. They were like, 'Oh really?!'

Suga on being part of a music video before debut

Suga recalled that he was part of a music video before he made his debut with BTS. He said that there is a 'legendary thing called SeeU'. He added that the 3D character danced on Inkigayo and he was at the back. Suga said that even J-Hope, Jimin and Jungkook were dancing in the back.

Suga on wearing makeup

Speaking with Min-hyun, Suga said that he doesn't wear heavy makeup. "The idol makeup makes a person sort of like 2D. We look like cartoon characters with the idol makeup with dark rims of the eyes, coloured contacts."

Suga spoke about fans of the group, BTS ARMY

He told Min-hyun, "Everything is possible thanks to those fans who listen to your music. Our fans are called ARMY. It sounds really pretty. In French 'ami' means friend. In English it's ARMY. So people think of it as…it sounds like they are gonna protect us from everything." He also said that he feels BTS will age together with their fans.

Neat person in BTS

When Min-hyun asked Suga about the neat person in the group, he said, "This is funny. When we all lived together RM never cleaned up. So I was like, 'Please clean up your room. Don't put your clothes everywhere'. But his house is so neat, now that we don't live together. I sort of felt betrayed after seeing his new house. He wasn't this neat when we were living together. Everything was so neat, even the blanket. I realised that it becomes like that when you have your own place."

Suga on BTS' next chapter

The BTS rapper said, "We wrapped up our Chapter 1 as BTS nicely. We are doing solo promotions. We are waiting for our next chapter to come back as a team."

Suga on working non-stop

Suga told Min-hyun, “I have been working nonstop and also did a tour recently. But I didn't know what rest was. I always had to work hard and I always had to produce good outcomes. I had this obsession with the things I did. I need to prepare more while the others are taking a break. Why? Because I am gonna do this next. But while I was preparing my album last year I realised that taking a break is important. I thought I should take a break because without it I am gonna be sick.” Suga wrapped up the episode by telling Min-hyun that they should meet more often as they are similar.
