Hollywood actress Salma Hayek has injured her ankle and was seen sporting a thick bandage around her right foot and ankle.

Hayek, 45, was photographed being pushed though Los Angeles' LAX airport in a wheelchair on Sep 25 and was wearing a pair of flat black pumps, Daily Star reported.

The Braveheart actress has been forced to swap high heels for flat shoes after injuring her ankle and she revealed the reason during an appearance at a press event in Warsaw, Poland on Sep 27.

However, the nature of the injury and how it happened had not been made public yet.
