News of actors being roped in as ambassadors of states in India is common. But now too seem to be in demand for similar profiles. National Award-winning filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia, many of whose films have been set and shot in north India, has now been granted the title of the cultural and tourism brand ambassador of Uttarakhand. A major portion of his upcoming directorial venture, Bullett Raja, has been filmed in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

On the evening of April 25, Uttarakhand chief minister Vijay Bahuguna formally bestowed this honour upon Tigmanshu, who originally belongs to the state. “I accept this honour with humility. I will strive to showcase talent from my state, apart from shooting the rich virgin locations that it offers in my future projects. I have always tried to help people from Uttarakhand, but now my responsibility has increased. I will also encourage my filmmaker friends to shoot here. I am planning to take them on a familiarisation tour of the locations soon,” says Tigmanshu.
