Winehouse was to team up with superproducer Mark Ronson to record a track for last year''s ‘Quantum of Solace’, but the collaboration had to be dropped with Ronson insisting the singer was not ready to get back to work in the studio.
Bond bosses were forced to scrap plans to feature Winehouse, opting instead for a duet with Jack White and Alicia Keys.
And Fielder-Civil reveals a massive drink and drugs binge ruined the star’s chances of recording the coveted song.
“It just turned into an excuse for a wild drink and drugs party. She wasn’t concentrating on work,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
“She told me she was writing a song about me and her, and our relationship.
“How cool is that? To think, in 30 or 40 years people would be watching this film and still hearing the song about us. That was really amazing. But she messed it all up,” he added.
