Picking the right outfit for a wedding that is stylish yet subtle is a tough call, Kareena Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, Mira Rajput, Alia Bhatt, Malaika Arora, Kriti Sanon, Disha Patani at the recent Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta wedding reception showed us how pastels are the new colour inspiration for traditional lehengas. If you want a break from the bold reds and greens, you can take cue from their stunning pastel lehengas for the next wedding function.

The Bollywood divas wore an array of silhouettes and patterns along with ravishing jewellery and make-up that was an ode to the beautiful spring that is upon us. While we love a classic saree at a wedding function, the lehenga always remains the first love. Read on to see how these celebrities gave the traditional lehenga a fresh breath of air.

Kareena Kapoor Khan who came with sister Karisma Kapoor wore a gorgeous custom-made aqua blue embroidered lehenga with ivory thread and mirror work. She wore a beautiful choker to go with it and completed the look with a messy ponytail and subtle sheer make-up. Her look stood out among the bold colour palette spotted at the reception.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was elegance personified at the Ambani wedding reception where she arrived with Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan in a delicate light pink embroidered lehenga with minimal jewellery.

She left the hair open in subtle waves and the make-up was on point complementing the look at every level. Pink seems to be Bollywood’s current pastel favourite and it is the perfect choice for day-to-night wedding wear.

Mira Rajput looked like royalty in a light pink embroidered lehenga with a salmon-toned dupatta and an opulent neckpiece. She kept her hair swept towards one side and the make-up was every bit as gorgeous that went well with the ensemble. She arrived with husband Shahid Kapoor and the couple looked gorgeous.
