From designer lehengas to the over-the-top decor and top-secret locations, celebrities know how to get married right. Most recently, actor Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli’s Florence nuptials were as lavish as they come. Case in point: Borgo Finocchieto, the ever-elusive couple’s luxury wedding location, is reportedly the second most-expensive in the world.
The couple aced their look on the big-day, but of course the pair isn’t the first celebrity couple to rock a blush pink-white look in spectacular fashion. We’ve definitely already seen this wedding look before...
Hands-down, one of Bollywood’s best-dressed power couples -- they have been absolutely crushing the stylish couple game since they paired up -- actor Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Rajput got married in one of the most-talked about celeb weddings in 2015. The sexy modern bride wore a beautiful, but safe, blush pink Anamika Khanna lehenga, while the good-looking groom opted for a sharp cream sherwani by Kunal Rawal. Remind you of anyone?
The hopelessly-in-love celebrity couples -- Shahid Kapoor-Mira Rajput and Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma -- and their equally-captivating coordinated wedding outfits look too similar to not talk about. Not that we mind a bit -- we just can’t help but weigh up which pair looks better.
Below we break down Anushka and Mira’s bridal looks. (All photos: Instagram)
Anushka (left) chose a pale pink Sabyasachi creation, featuring a voluminous skirt with fairytale-esque renaissance embroidery, embellished with silver-gold metal thread, pearls and beads. Mira wore an exquisite hand-embroidered Anamika Khanna lehenga in blush pink, which she paired with two diaphanous dupatta - one for the head and another worn as a half sari.
Proving bigger is better, Mira (left) opted for an elegant yet edgy Navratan necklace, which she paired with a statement passa to balance her classy lehenga. Anushka completed her bridal look with Sabyasachi uncut diamond, baroque Japanese cultured pearls and pale spinel choker, earrings and mathapatti.
Flowers in the hair is always timeless. Mira’s modern and minimal take on the classic bridal bun was both elegant and sophisticated. The addition of flowers pushed it a little and saved it from being dated and cliche. Anushka’s romantic (and dramatic) wedding-day updo, on the other hand, was adorned with a bouquet of Tuscan hydrangeas in white. It was more whimsical and edgy of the two.
