With summers around the corner, the trend of cold shoulder tops from the ’90s is making a comeback. This trend, a favourite on runways is hot with our Bollywood divas too. From off-the-­shoulder tops to shoulder cut-outs to asymmetrical necklines, these tops can look sexy without ­revealing too much skin.

“A trend that looks good on all age groups whether you are 25 or 65! It’s a sexy but classy outfit and a very graceful way of flaunting your shoulders,” says designer Pawan Sachdeva, adding, “While choosing a your top ensure that the shape of the shoulders and bust line should be perfect. Light colour bottoms must be chosen to get the attention on the top.”

“Shoulders are one of the best things to show off after your face. The cold shoulder trend has become a hot-selling trend in Bollywood,” adds designer Rina Dhaka.

Designer Nida Mahmood however feels the trend isn’t here to stay, “It’s a micro trend, so flaunt it before it goes out of fashion. For a formal and chic look, cold ­shoulder tops must be paired with full circular skirts, dresses. It’s a very girly trend and looks great in flowy fabrics.”

Experts say you can pair it with pointy toe heels and sneakers for an effortless spring look or wear it with a flowy skirt for a night out with your friends or with palazzos for a casual ­weekend look. Go for basic makeup and no fancy hairstyles. Keep the accessories minimal.
