Didier Deschamps explains why Paul Pogba is never likely to win the Ballon d’Or
Midfielders, the category which Paul Pogba falls under, like Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Steven Gerrard and David Beckham have often finished second or third.
Paul Pogba is not likely win the Ballon d’Or this year, or next year, or the year after that...or ever. That is the opinion of French national team coach Didier Deschamps ahead of the 2016 winner being announced early next week.

“He’s a midfielder. The Ballon d’Or is for strikers or ‘number 10s’, with rare exceptions for certain competitions,” Deschamps told RMC in France.
“These are players who score goals. Paul, he has scored and he will score more, but he will not score three goals every game. That’s not his style.”
