11-year-old girl molested in Gurugram’s Ullahwas village, uncle booked

The police said that the girl’s parents were separated and her grandparents had left her and her younger brother in the care of their uncle.

An 11-year-old girl was allegedly molested by her uncle at his residence in Ullahwas village, the police said on Wednesday.

An FIR was filed under sections 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC on Tuesday, Subhash Boken, the Gurugram police spokesperson, said.

The FIR was registered after the girl’s mother had filed a complaint, alleging that the incident had taken place two months ago. The police said that the girl’s parents were separated and her grandparents had left her and her younger brother in the care of their uncle, as the girl’s father was undergoing treatment at AIIMS in New Delhi.
