Decomposed body found in Gurugram’s Budhera water treatment plant, probe on

Spokesperson for the Gurugram police said that the water was not contaminated as the body was not found in the treated water but near the pump.

The decomposed body of an unidentified man was found in a water channel at the Chandu Budhera water treatment plant in the city on Monday, the police said.

Subhash Boken, the spokesperson for the Gurugram police, said that the water was not contaminated as the body was not found in the treated water. “It was found near the pump,” he said.

Around 11am on Monday, the pump operator noticed the body and immediately informed the police.

Ravinder Kumar, in-charge of the Budhera police post said, “The body is highly decomposed and bloated. We have done the preliminary investigation under Section 174 of the CrPC. An FIR has not been filed.”

“The body was found on a net, ahead of the pump of the water treatment plant. The treated water has not been affected,” he added.

Kumar said that the body has been shifted to the mortuary and the police are trying to identify the body.

Kumar said that prima facie, there is no injury mark on the body, but they are not ruling out the angle of murder. “His clothes were partially torn. We can get more clarity on the issue only after an autopsy,” he said.
