After a successful campaign last year on road safety, the Gurugram Police and Road Safety Organisation, a non-profit organisation, hopes to continue to make roads safer, through the initiative on Raksha Bandhan, which will be celebrated on Sunday.
Calling it ‘Suraksha Bandhan’, the Gurugram Police and Road Safety Organisation will release videos shot by their staff, showing the staff tying rakhi.
The officers will also urge all sisters in Gurugram to gift a helmet to their brothers, keeping in tune with the Raksha Bandhan tradition, and in return ask their brothers to follow all traffic rules diligently.
“The officers will continue to do their duty, and fine the violators, but they will also tie a rakhi and make them take a pledge. This idea was conceived by the traffic team and road safety officers together, and it is aimed at enforcing traffic rules, and make violators more aware of the rules to be followed,” said Subhash Boken, public relations officer of the Gurugram Police and Road Safety Organisation.
