“The sky is expected to be generally cloudy with the possibility of short spells of rains and thunderstorms, at least till Tuesday,” said an IMD spokesperson.
The maximum temperature in the coming week is expected to stay around 35° Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to hover around 28° Celsius, according to the IMD website.
On Saturday, Gurugram experienced a short spell of rain, which lasted for around 15 minutes, bringing the temperature down by two notches.
The maximum temperature recorded on Saturday was 36° Celsius and the minimum temperature was 28.8° Celsius, as per the IMD website. The humidity level recorded at 5.30pm was 83%.
“However long the rain may have lasted, it brought relief from the hot sun. Since the past few days, it has been quite hot in the day time,” said Vrinda Sharma, a resident of Sector 50.
The temperature in the city has been hovering around 36° Celsius over the past four days, which is around three degrees above the season’s normal.
Meanwhile, the city’s air quality index (AQI) was 64 µg/m3 (for PM 2.5) on Saturday, which is ‘satisfactory’ according to the National Ambient Air Quality Standards, and an improvement from Friday’s AQI of 105 µg/m3.
