Rs 1.35 cr sports stadium to come up in Sohna

It was announced by Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda that the Sohna sub-division will be developed as the second Gurgaon at Sohna in Gurgaon on Saturday, where he laid the foundation stones of a bus stand and a sports stadium.

It was announced by Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda that the Sohna sub-division will be developed as the second Gurgaon at Sohna in Gurgaon on Saturday, where he laid the foundation stones of a bus stand and a sports stadium.

The stadium will be developed in an area of 4.5 acres at a cost of Rs 1.37 crore. It will have a jogging track and seating arrangement for spectators. The bus stand, which will be constructed in place of the old bus stand and will have six bays, is to be constructed at the estimated cost of Rs 3.15 crore.

Hooda, said, “Players will be chosen from the age group of 8-19 years and given training and scholarships.”

For the London Olympics-2012, of the total 81 players in the Indian contingent, 18 are from Haryana.

The state government will honour players winning the gold, silver and bronze medals with Rs 2.5 crore, Rs 1.5 crore and Rs 1 crore, respectively.
