Ben Affleck will direct and star in a new feature film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution.
Based on the story of a man accused of the murder of a rich elderly woman, the original big-screen adaptation dates from 1957 and was directed by Billy Wilder. According to The Guardian, the mystery movie will be the second Agatha Christie project for Fox after the remake of Murder on the Orient Express with Kenneth Branagh at the helm. Other Agatha Christie projects are reportedly in the works too, featuring the likes of Emma Stone and Alicia Vikander.

Affleck is currently filming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice follow up Justice League in London in which he reprises his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman. He is also in post production on Live by Night, a period crime film that marks his return to the director’s chair after the Oscar-winning Argo. Also on Affleck’s slate is the solo Batman film.

No release date has yet been announced for Witness to the Prosecution.
