Female power ruled the 18th Annual Screen Actor’s Guild Awards that took place in Los Angeles on Sunday night, as The Help won three awards.
Actors Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer bagged the trophy for best leading actress and best supporting actress respectively. The Help also claimed the guild’s ensemble award, the show’s equivalent of a best-picture prize.
French actor Jean Dujardin won the lead-actor honour for silent movie, The Artist, beating Oscar frontrunner George Clooney. Bridesmaids actor Maya rudolph encouraged everyone watching to have a drink every time the name Martin Scorsese was mentioned.
