Meryl Streep says she got Billy Magnussen his part in Into the Woods

had actually seen the Broadway actor in the Tony-winning play Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike back in 2013 and had lobbied for him to land a role in the movie, which would be his first major on-screen role.
