So, what does Daniel Radcliffe do with his Rs 632 cr Harry Potter savings?
Daniel Radcliffe revealed that he doesn’t touch the money he made from the movies - estimated to be close to $100 million.
Daniel Radcliffe was only 10 when he was cast in the role that would define his career. Now, five years after the final Harry Potter film hit the screens, the star revealed that he doesn’t touch the money he made from the movies - estimated to be close to $100 million.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, Radcliffe said, “I don’t really do anything with my money.”
“I’m very grateful for it, because having money basically means you don’t have to worry about it, which is a very lovely freedom to have. It also gives me immense freedom, career-wise.”
According to CBS News, Radcliffe reportedly made $95 million (Rs 632 crore) from the Harry Potter film series, which is the second-highest grossing movie series in history, with earnings of $7.7 billion (Rs 51,000 crore).
Radcliffe reportedly earned $145,000 (Rs 96 lakh) from the first Harry Potter film back in 2001. By the final films, he was making around $20 million per film.
“For all the people who’ve followed my career, I want to give them something to be interested in, rather than them just watch me make loads of money on crap films for the rest of my life,” he said.
He has been very experimental in his post-Potter roles, playing, among others, poet Allen Ginsberg (Kill Your Darlings), a neo-Nazi (Imperium), and a farting corpse (Swiss Army Man).
