The England cricket team booked its place in the semifinals of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 with an 87-run win over New Zealand in a Group A match at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Tuesday. Batting first, England rode on fifties from Alex Hales, Joe Root and Jos Buttler to post a total of 310, with Corey Anderson picking three wickets for the Kiwis. In reply, New Zealand were bowled out for 223. Kane Williamson top-scored for the Blackcaps with 87. Liam Plunkett was the pick of the English bowlers as he finished with 4/55.
