Akasa Air to start Noida airport flights from Jun 16

The airport, which was inaugurated on March 28, will start commercial operations from June 15.

Akasa Air will start flights from the Noida International Airport from June 16, the second airline set to commence services from the new airport.

IndiGo is expected to operate the highest number of flights in the initial phase, while Akasa Air, which announced in January that it would base aircraft at the airport, will operate both domestic and international routes. (HT Photos) (HT_PRINT)

The airport, which was inaugurated on March 28, will start commercial operations from June 15.

In a release on Monday, Akasa Air said it would start daily flights connecting Noida airport with Bengaluru and Navi Mumbai from June 16.

"The airline will continue to progressively strengthen its network from Noida International Airport, expanding both domestic and international connectivity over time," the release said.

Further, Akasa Air would have an MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) facility within the airport premises.

IndiGo will be the first carrier to start operations from the airport with flights connecting Lucknow and Bengaluru from June 15.
