'BJP spent crores to ruin my image but...': Rahul Gandhi's latest swipe
On Monday, Gandhi led the yatra from Indore to Ujjain. The march started in the morning from Indore's Bada Ganpati square and Gandhi, briefly, rode a cycle. He was joined in this leg of the march by Satlaj Rahat, the son of famous Urdu poet Rahat Indori, who presented Gandhi with books dedicated to his late father, including an autobiography.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi - in Madhya Pradesh's Indore at the head of the Bharat Jodo Yatra - accused the BJP on Monday of having 'spent thousands of crores' to spoil his image but claimed the attempt would backfire since he was supported by the 'truth'.

"BJP spent thousands of crores of rupees to spoil my image. They created a certain image of me. People think it is harmful... but it is beneficial for me because the truth is with me."
"Personal attacks on me tell me that I'm going in the right direction," Gandhi said.
On the fierce feud in Rajasthan between chief minister Ashok Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin Pilot - who led an unsucessful rebellion against his boss in 2020 - Gandhi opted for a diplomatic answer, calling both 'assets' of the Congress and insisting the bitter war between them would not affect the yatra, which is schedueld to enter Rajasthan on Saturday.

Rajasthan - one of few remaining states the Congress still controls - will hold an Assembly election next year, as India rumbles on to what will be a critical general election in 2024.
The war between Gehlot and Pilot has already threatened the stability of the Congress' Rajasthan government on at least two separate instances, as well as during the party's presidential election last month; Gehlot was the Congress' unofficial nominee but backed out after it emerged that he would have to surrender his CM post to his arch-rival.
Gehlot - heavily criticised by Pilot - for what he said was his role in instigating revolts against the party's central leadership on this matter - hit back last week, calling his junior colleague a 'gaddar', or traitor.
