CCS meet today highlights: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired a special meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) and reviewed the steps taken in view of the ongoing conflict in West Asia and assessed the availability of critical needs of the common man. At the meeting, Modi called for all-out efforts to protect the citizens from the impact of the conflict, a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office said. In the earlier meeting on March 22, Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) reviewed the situation arising out of the conflict in West Asia and a detailed assessment was made on the availability of critical needs of the common people, including food, energy and fuel security, an official statement said here.
PM Modi, who chaired the meeting, directed that a group of ministers and secretaries be created to work dedicatedly in a whole-of-government approach to deal with the effects of the West Asia conflict.

-The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) will reportedly meet at 7 pm on Wednesday in Delhi to discuss developments amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

CCS meet today LIVE updates: Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said on Wednesday, "With regard to natural gas, as you are aware, 100% supply has been ensured for domestic consumers as well as the CNG transport sector. In addition, the Government of India has taken several important steps to expand the PNG network...Regarding LPG, I would like to inform you that our import dependency is around 60%. Compared to last month, international prices, particularly the Saudi CP benchmark, have seen a significant increase, rising from $522 to $780, which is an increase of about 44%. Despite this, there has been no increase in LPG cylinder prices for domestic consumers.”

CCS meet today LIVE updates: Airline carrier IndiGo has announced a hike in the airfare prices after the government raised the prices on aviation turbine fuel (ATF).
IndiGo said that the new fare will be applicable on bookings made after 1 am on Thursday. The move comes after the aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices for domestic airlines were raised by a calibrated 8.5 per cent on Wednesday.
“IndiGo has also re-calibrated its domestic Fuel Charge to vary by different travel distances. All domestic bookings made from 0001 hrs on 02 April 2026 will include the following revised fuel charges per sector,” IndiGo said in a statement.

CCS meet today LIVE updates: Hours after reports of a vessel carrying Iranian crude heading towards India, the ministry of ports, shipping and waterways said it did not know of any such development.
Mukesh Mangal, additional secretary at the shipping ministry, when asked about an Iranian oil ship moving towards India, replied that the government had “no specific information” on the vessel. Mangal made the remark during an inter-ministerial briefing on the recent developments in West Asia.
Ship tracking data had earlier suggested that India's first Iranian crude oil cargo since 2019 may be heading towards a port in Gujarat, PTI news agency reported.

CCS meet today LIVE: Sujata Sharma, joint secretary (Marketing & Oil Refinery), Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, said in an inter-ministerial briefing on West Asia crisis on Wednesday that there crude oil supplies in India are enough for two months, adding that refineries are operating at peak capacity.
“As you are all aware, our crude inventory is sufficient, and the Government of India has made adequate arrangements for crude oil supplies for the next two months. Our refineries are operating at peak capacity... Brent crude, which was trading in the range of $70 per barrel approximately two months ago, has today crossed the $100 mark,” she said.
"Despite this, there has been no increase in petrol and diesel rates for domestic consumers. The prices of petrol and diesel have not been raised since April 6, 2022; furthermore, in March 2024, the prices of both fuels were reduced by ₹2... To shield domestic consumers from the volatility in international oil prices, the Government of India reduced excise duty to ensure that consumers remained protected and that no price hikes were passed on to them...," she added.
