A student of B.Tech first year, Abhinay had been asking his father G Srinivas for the last one week to buy him a video game costing Rs 3,000. The father refused and advised him to concentrate on studies.

An engineering student committed suicide after his parents refused to buy him a video game, police said on Tuesday.

G Abhinay (17) jumped from the roof of his two-storey house at Kuntlur in Ranga Reddy district on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Monday night.

G Abhinay (17) jumped from the roof of his two-storey house at Kuntlur in Ranga Reddy district on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Monday night. He sustained critical injuries and was shifted to a private hospital where he died.
