Sonali Phogat's family agrees to autopsy only if videographed: Report
Sonali Phogat's brother on Wednesday accused two of Sonali Phogat's associates of killing her and said the family won't allow an autopsy until an FIR against the two is registered, reports said.
Sonali Phogat's family has given their consent for the autopsy only if the entire process is videographed, Phogat's nephew Mohinder Phogat told news agency PTI on Thursday. On Tuesday, the Haryana BJP leader and social media influencer Sonali Phogat was declared brought dead after she was taken to a hospital in Goa late on Monday night. Preliminary reports suggested that Sonali died of a heart attack, but her family members raised suspicion of foul play and demanded a CBI probe. The autopsy was earlier scheduled at Goa Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday but there was a dispute over her family's consent as her rother Rinku Dhaka alleged that Sonali Phogat was killed by two of her associates. He insisted that the family will allow an autopsy only after the Goa Police register an FIR against the two associated.
"The police have told us that the FIR in connection with our complaint would be filed after conducting the postmortem," Sonali Phogat's nephew said confirming the family's consent to PTI.
Pending approval from the family, Sonali Phogat's body is kept in the GMCH morgue. The hospital has set up a panel of two forensic experts for the autopsy.
'One of her aides sexually assaulted her 3 years ago': Sonali Phogat's brother
Sonali Phogat's brother on Wednesday directly claimed that his sister was killed. He said after Sonali Phogat's mysterious death CCTV cameras, laptop and other crucial things for her Haryana farmhouse have gone missing. He linked the death to a case which allegedly took place three years ago when Sonali Phogat was sexually assaulted by one of her aides who spiked her food and later blackmailed her. “She was a BJP leader for the last 15 years. We will also appeal to the prime minister to help us in getting justice for her,” he said.
