A teenage girl was molested by a group of men who assaulted her in front of silent onlookers, tried to disrobe her and later put the video recording of the incident on social media.

The incident occurred on Saturday in Manjhra locality in Udham Singh Nagar district when the girl had gone to an under-construction building looking for her brother, SSP Abudai Krishnaraj S said.

Finding her alone, a group of hooligans held her hostage, tore her clothes and thrashed her in front of silent onlookers.

The video put on social media platform created angered resident who gheraod Kashipur police station demanding action against the accused..

After the incident, the girl reached home and narrated her ordeal to her father who filed a complaint and a case was registered under different sections of the IPC against seven accused who have been arrested.
