Bhuria stresses proper utilisation of Govt funds for tribals

Union Tribal Affairs Minister Kantilal Bhuria on Saturday said that Union Government has directed the states to prevent misuse of Central funds for tribal welfare, ensuring its proper utilisation.

"We have asked the states to ensure that the Centre's funds meant for the tribals upliftment and welfare, were not misused," Bhuria told reporters here.

"We have also asked the states to ensure that no complaint of corruption in connection with Centre's funds reaches his Ministry," he said.

The Union Minister said that the Centre was monitoring its funds, being provided to the states for tribals uplift and welfare.

He said that his Ministry will rush in a team to carry out investigation if it receives complaint of misuse or corruption in the utilisation of the Centre's funds.

However, Bhuria said that it was the responsibility of the states to ensure that the Centre's funds for tribal were properly utilised.
