"The BJP and the Sangh parivar have coined this phrase to inject communalism. The truth is that top Sangh and BJP leaders including Lal Krishna Advani, MM Joshi and Ashok Singhal have girls in their families marrying Muslims," he said.

Criticising the Central government, Verma said the real ‘jihad’ was required on the border.

"China has repeatedly been violating the sanctity of border ever since the BJP government took over at the Centre. Situation is no different on the India-Pakistan border. They (the BJP leaders) should focus on these issues rather than spreading the poison of communalism in the country," Verma said.
