BJP women activists try to force their way into BHU

As part of the ongoing agitation, activists of the women’s cell of the Bharatiya Janata Party staged a dharna outside the main gate of BHU and forcibly tried to meet BHU Vice-Chancellor Prof Panjab Singh here this afternoon.
The agitated women activists were demanding unconditional withdrawal of show-cause notices. Sources said some of the demonstrators even entered the BHU campus and were on way to meet the V-C when security personnel closed the gate and intercepted them.
Mahanagar president of women’s cell Sadhana Vedanti, former MLC Veena Pandey, Geeta Shashtri, Nirmala Patel, Sandhya Tiwari, Dhanno Devi, Sushila Yadav and Rukmini Dhawan were among others who staged the dharna and demanded withdrawal of show-cause-notices served on the teachers.
State executive council member of BJP Ashok Pandey, state vice-president of intellectual cell of BJP Prof Kaushal Kishore Mishra, state secretary of cultural wing of BJP Dr Gyan Prakash Mishra, Dr Shardanand Pandey, Ram Sunder Mishra and Manoj Pandey were among others who accompanied the women activists and staged dharna.
The main gate of BHU remained closed for more than an hour due to the protest.
“The women were trying to enter the campus forcibly therefore we got the main gate closed for some time”, said Chief Proctor of BHU Prof SK Singh.
