Chidambaram drove to a city hotel amidst tight security where he is scheduled to hold a closed-door meeting with Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on the prevailing security scenario.
The Home Minister was also scheduled to hold a meeting tomorrow with the Unified Command structure of the state to be attended by senior police, army, paramilitary, intelligence and government officials.
The former finance minister is also scheduled to inaugurate the 11,111st branch of State Bank of India at Sonapur, near in Guwahati, tomorrow.
The Home Minister is scheduled to discuss the extension of ceasefire with insurgent group National Democratic Front of Bodoland), which expired yesterday, and the setting up of a NSG hub in Guwahati with the Chief Minister.
