This issue will be discussed in the forthcoming meeting of the Executive Council scheduled for March 21.
According to Vyas, Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh has given Central status to the University of Allahabad and the two institutes find mention in Allahabad University Act-2005. “As such, any question to delink these institutes from Allahabad University does not arise at all,” he said.
Vyas has expressed his apprehension that once the process of delinking starts, this could open a ‘floodgate’ for other institutes to follow suit.
“It should be remembered that Kamla Nehru Post Graduate Medical Institute, being a part of the Central University, will get enough grants, which will enable it to get equipped with advanced medical facilities for the citizens of Allahabad.”
With this consideration, this institute had been incorporated with Allahabad Central University by Union Minister for Human Resource Development,” he added.Vyas has pointed out that any proposal to delink any institution from Allahabad Central University by EC members at the forthcoming meeting of Executive Council will not be in public interest.
