Cong compares Sonia with Teresa, Besant; BJP cries foul
BJP on Friday demanded an apology from the Congress for "comparing" its president Sonia Gandhi with Mother Teresa, Annie Besant and Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia.
"Comparing Sonia with leaders of the stature of Mother Teresa, Annie Besant and Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia is showing disrespect to these great leaders," BJP spokesman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters.
The Congress party should apologise to the nation for comparing their party president with great leaders like Annie Besant and Mother Teresa.
On Ram Temple issue, Naqvi said the dialogue process for resolving the vexed issue had reached a very advanced stage and the BJP was hopeful of an outcome soon.
However, he added that BJP is of the firm opinion that the issue could be solved either through a court verdict or talks between the members of the two communities.
On poll surveys, which were predicting an NDA government at Centre, but not 300 seats to BJP as expected by the party, Naqvi said the picture would become clearer on May 13, the day of counting.
"Since the number 13 is very lucky and auspicious for BJP therefore, the party is expecting something good on that day," he remarked.
