Their budget for the current financial year is Rs 3,967.33 crore.

Delhi Police have been given an extra Rs 20 lakh for the secret service fund, while the total budget for informers has been increased from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 60 lakh.

The Delhi Police, however, have got only R60 crore for the CCTV project. "We will get rest of the amount as part of a supplementary scheme," a senior police officer said.

Housing and police building projects have also been given a boost, with Mukherjee substantially increasing allocation under both heads to R260.50 crore from previous years' Rs 31 crore.

In comparison to last year's Rs 10 crore, housing projects will get Rs 62 crore, while police building projects will get Rs 198.50 crore - a big increase from last year's Rs 21 crore.

Budgetary provisions for developing a traffic and communication network and a model traffic system has been brought down from Rs 82 crore to Rs 20 crore.
