“First of all, I disagree entirely with the commission’s approach. It cannot be a parallel government. The decision to increase the gas prices was taken 10 months ago,” Ramesh said, during his Google hangout live video telecast on Thursday.

Replying to a question on the EC’s direction, Ramesh said he expected the government to appeal against the EC direction.

He also took a dig at the officials of constitutional bodies. “They are perfectly normal when they are working in the government. The moment they become members of the body, they suddenly think their service as God’s gift to humanity.”
